About this deal

To speak of men’s room graffiti is to raise a nettlesome inquiry: where on earth did they go? These days, unlike the days of my youth, you very seldom find a men’s room stall darkly scribbled with lubricious verses. I suspect the cause is—somehow—the internet. But this does raise the distressing question of whether our computers have become our toilets.)

Dirty Poetry From Mind of Ivan L. Moody (Hardback) - Waterstones

In this five stanza poem from one of the masters of nonsense poetry, the poet personifies a table and chair. They speak to one another, make fun of one another’s features and their varied ability, or inability, to walk.It begins with the phrase “There once was a tiger, terrible and tough”. The speaker decides that tigers, despite their stripes, aren’t “stylish enough”. The speaker looks for something “fine to wear” until he finds white gloves. All the animals react to this change, shaming him and laughing at him until he took off each glove.

If you are looking for a dirty poem that dives into oral sex, this is the one for you. The speaker describes in vivid detail the touch of her partner’s tongue on various parts of her body, as well as the joy of reciprocating those attentions. She was wild, unpredictable, beautiful, and dangerous. Impossible to resist. A summer storm in a bikini.” ― “ Bitter Sweet Love” by Michael Faudet So fierce is the passion that burns within my heart, a raging forest fire, unstoppable and consuming.” ― “ Untitled” by Michael Faudet The title reminds me of dirty pretty poetry which I first came across on allpoetry.com where I used to post almost daily but now spurt out a few poems per year or two. The Funeral Blues writer’s influence was debated throughout his life among early twentieth century literary types in his native England, especially in the shadow of other poetic giants like T.S. Eliot. But the New York School of poets, including John Ashbery, later embraced him. In this section from his poem Babies in Their Mothers’ Arms , he writes about, ahem, "self-love":

Sarah Smeltzer is a writer and educator in Minneapolis. Born and raised in Minnesota, she recognizes that lakes are the best and spookiest bodies of water around. When she's not teaching, she's usually writing stories, rollerskating, cuddling her dog, or researching medieval women's mysticism. Anybody who has ever taught a poetry class has encountered the exasperated student inquiring, “ Why can’t poets just say what they mean?” Or: “ Why all this double talk?” It’s easy to dismiss such questions as naïve, but the truth is that everyone, poets and poetry lovers included, occasionally entertains the feeling: a gathering annoyance with poetry’s indirection, its saying while not quite saying.stretching the truth within her shallow actions stealing grims scythe reaping the benefits exposed from wounds she created while shredding the scab upon others preying on the weakness of those she infected brainwashing the ignorant spreading her diseased mind with every breath exhaled polluting the atmosphere with the stenchof uncleanliness excusing the disgusting behaviour as being allergic to latrine products while judging and bashing others who staypositive and live under the light of a brightfuture dragging them down suffocating themunder her jealousy encouraging failure flatlining their motivation whispering commands into their ear verbally melting their self esteem uponresistance pulling the reigns on their vocal cords This poem benefits greatly from being read out loud due to the use of alliteration. The sounds of nonsense words are half the fun. Here are a few lines:

The speaker begins with the line “Once there was an elephant”. The rest of the poem is a funny play on words. The “ele” in the word “elephant” is inserted into words like “telephone” and “trunk” confusing even the speaker at times. Here are the last lines: Messy Room’ is one of the best poems on this list. In it, Silverstein describes a very messy room and all the chaotic items it contains. You come to fetch me from my work to-night When supper’s on the table, and we’ll see If I can leave off burying the white Soft petals fallen from the apple tree (Soft petals, yes, but not so barren quite, Mingled with these, smooth bean and wrinkled pea;) And go along with you ere you lose sight, Of what you came for and become like me, Slave to a springtime passion for the earth. How Love burns through the Putting in the Seed On through the watching for that early birth When, just as the soil tarnishes with weed, The sturdy seedling with arched body comes Shouldering its way and shedding the earth crumbs.” — “ Putting in the Seed” by Robert Frost
