The standard oak pergolas in the designer above supplied in 1, 2, 3 or 4 'bay' sizes, with each bay measuring 3 x 3 metres, or you can now specify your own exact sizes.

The generous 3×2 metre dimensions mean it’s versatile enough for a range of activities, from simple sun shielding to dining, socialising, or even hosting gatherings. This particular freestanding pergola kit comes with four planter boxes at the base of each post, making it easy to grow climbing plants for added shade and aesthetic appeal. Its four (4.8m x 4.8m Pergola have 6 redwood posts), 4'' x 4" (90mm round smooth finish) legs support the top and stay rigid using six 2" x 6" main beams, the natural wood colour enhances your landscaping easily also available in brown finish. Don't forget though, everything we make is bespoke, so if you'd like a lower clearance height, that's no problem. Sizes of the Components
Because of their weight, our Oak Pergolas don't need to be bolted or fixed to the floor. The two most common options for where the posts meet the floor are: b) We can provide white reconstituted stone 'feet', called staddle stones. They are 23 centimetres tall and already have a metal bar protruding around an inch out of the top. Again, you just drill the bottoms of the posts and sit them on top. We then produce technical drawings for you to sign off and gain approval from a structural engineer if needed. CAD drawings take between 2-3 working days to produce. Another option is to have the pergola posts provided longer if you wish to cement them into the ground. This option is sometimes specified by designers of structures going into public places. The redwood posts are supplied at 2.7m long to give the customer the option to concrete them into the ground, finishing the structure at 2.3m high, or the posts can be cut down to 2.3m for it to be free-standing structure. Oak, being extremely hard-celled, will quite happily sit on top of these metal rods so you can leave around a half an inch gap under the posts to keep them off the ground.
