This feel-good soundtrack features hit songs from Take That, including Rule the World, The Flood, Could It Be Magic, Shine, Relight My Fire, Back For Good and other memorable classics that have been reimagined by the film’s cast: Aisling Bea (This Way Up), Alice Lowe (Black Mirror), Jayde Adams (The Outlaws), Amaka Okafor (The Responder) and Marc Wootton (Nativity! The boys' follow-up single 'Could It Be Magic' quickly propelled them to super-stardom with a string of number 1s not far away. Founding members Robbie Williams and Jason Orange, who quit Take That in 2014 and retired from touring and making music, isn't involved in the project. Adapted from the band's highly successful stage show, the movie is executively produced by Take That band members Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald and features a stellar comedic cast.

It was directed by James Robert Moore, with choreography by Ian West, musical direction by Roxanna Shirley, arrangements by Steve Parry, set design by Steve Howell, costume by Carry On Costumes, sound design by Leigh Davies, video and lighting design by Ben Bull and associate direction by Grace Currie. Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen released a statement about the film in 2020, saying: "Greatest Days is a film dedicated to all those who have supported us throughout the years. Twenty-five years later their lives have changed in many different ways as they reunite for one more epic show by their beloved band, to relight their friendship and discover that maybe their greatest days are ahead of them. The album includes new songs like 'How Christmas Is Supposed To Be' as well as Gary's take on some classic tunes.Tickets to the entire tour sold it in less than five hours, making it the fastest-selling tour in UK history. Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, executive producers for the film, joined the cast at the highly anticipated premiere of ‘Greatest Days’ last night (Thursday 15th June).

The people behind this film tried to get production from a large film studio for this film, so that they could then also cast well-known actors. The world premiere - held in Leicester Square - also featured a performance from Take That, which included their hits Greatest Day, Back for Good and Rule The World. For example, the people behind this film project had to manage the financial affairs more themselves, which meant that they had to simplify some things and drop other ideas. Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald will executive produce the film, just as they did for The Band.While Greatest Days is not a film about Take That, the story plays out against a backdrop of the band's best-loved songs.

Gone were the cheesy pop tunes of the 90s, Take That had grown up with their fans and the men, now in their 30s revealed a much more mature sound, with their 2006 comeback single 'Patience'. Ruth is known for her role in the recent adaptation of His Dark Materials, as well as starring in The Affair, Mrs Wilson and Luther.The cast for the show were discovered through TV talent show Let It Shine, as Five to Five won the roles and went on tour with the show.
