These cards allow you to do things like move a person’s goat stack to the top of their pile, allowing you to then try and steal it. they both love the game, love stealing stacks and particularly love winning the 'mega stack' through careful playing of action cards or wilds. I’ve bought four copies of Goat Lords and the expansion after giving away our other copies to two teen girls in college, a couple in their late 20s, and my in-laws who are in their late 70s and play card games with other elderly couples in their building.

Complexity: (GO) The game is not complex, but I don't recommend it for the very youngest players in an unsupervised setting. It can be a pretty brutal game at times if you can’t burry your large goat groups before someone else steals them, but that’s how the game works. Each of the many goat types have different point values, you will fight for the highest point values.Only so many people can play and one time so sometimes we play two people to a tam to get more players in. Every time you win a duel successfully, your goatherd value goes up, making you more likely to win, but watch out! I’m not sure why some of the 1-3 Star reviews had issues with the rules as they are pretty straight forward and the action cards are self explanatory.

Also, if you do make good use of the rotate card, you can then play a new pair of goats on top, meaning the big stack you just stole cannot be easily stolen from you. It’s great when you know someone has a Chuck Norris or Leonardo de Caprio stack with several 25 and/or 50 wild cards and you have three action cards to help you steal it from them: play the action card where you ask the player to your left for their highest wild card until you get to someone who has a wild card to give you (players should be honest about it or why bother playing? It’s perfect for any family game night, party game, thanksgiving games, christmas party games, teen games and more! If you are in a vindictive mood, there is also one Atomic Goat action which allows you to just flat out nuke a stack of goats. If the Discard Pile has more than five goat cards, then it may be shuffled and used as the new Draw Pile.

When the draw pile has been emptied, gameplay will continue around the group until their hands are empty. Everything gets goat crazy when you attack opponents by dueling for their top GOAT Stack to beat your lowly goat friends. When you play a pair of goats, they won’t be worth but so many points, as the goats range from five to twenty points, most of which are on the lower end.
